Thanksgiving remains my favorite holiday of them all: it is so simple and authentic. Here, then, are some ideas that may help you enjoy the day.
It’s supposed to pour in the east this week. Maybe think about renting a sea plane to get to grandmother’s house.
Shop carefully for the best ingredients.
Crank up the old stove early on Thursday.
There is no such thing as too many cooks in the kitchen.
Keep the oven warmer on.
Be careful handling those hot turkeys.
Sanitary procedures are to be followed with a smile.
Both dress…
and presentation are crucial to a happy meal.
Be sure to give thanks for all our wonderful blessings.
Quiet background music always adds to the ambiance.
Please, no rowdiness.
A small glass of red wine for some…
but, please, no sodas this one time.
At our house, seating is determined by a lottery. Too bad if the person next to you brings a frisbee.
A carver who knows what he is doing…
is preferable to one who does not.
Make a wish…
and eat to your heart’s content…
while not over-doing it.
Remember, leftovers make for great sandwiches…
And, save room for dessert, which might be something special.
Lastly, be sure to recycle the garbage.
